All kidding aside...
In 1983, at the age of fourteen, I had the great fortune of having access to a local university computer lab that had just acquired a room full of the first mass market IBM PCs. I quickly learned all that there was to know about the DOS/BasicA programming language and I subsequently programmed a "choose your own adventure" game. Consequently, that is where my own adventure began as a programmer!
1990's
My career in programming really began when, while working for Ericsson Telecom Inc. in Texas, I programmatically manipulated MS Office to automate several of my day-to-day tasks. My success with that led to several other departments seeking my assistance to implement similar solutions. The obvious need for these types of solutions led to the formation of Micahsoft Inc. For fun you can view the old/original website here! The Old Micahsoft Site
1997 - 2007
Micahsoft completed several contract projects in it's first two years and was ultimately contracted by the State of Missouri in 1999 to design a variety of systems for multiple agencies and departments. It was those successes in Missouri that led to interest from other states, namely The State of Kansas where a number of systems were developed for the State Attorney General's Office.
2007- Present
In 2007, I began working with Bank of America where I designed and developed several Data Management Systems and Reporting Tools that facilitated the acquisitions and mergers of Countrywide Financial, Merrill Lynch, US Trust, and others. As a VP level member of the Enterprise Release Management Team, I received formal training and certification in Lean Six Sigma. Using a few of the principles that I learned through Six Sigma, I created a proprietary scoring model for managing risk that was subsequently recommended for a patent and for which I received awards.
This work led to additional opportunities with Wells Fargo wherein I implemented a number of similar systems for Enterprise Software Release Management teams.
Although I have dissolved Micahsoft as a corporation, I have continued to work on various projects as an independent with my previous client, The State of Kansas, and recently designed, developed, and implemented an Enterprise Content Management tool for their Health Care Stability Fund.
